Patrice Nelson is the young business mogul and community leader making tracks and leaving everlasting impressions in the Central Texas region. Born September 16, 1983 the younger of two daughters she was always a child who knew that she wanted big things in life and had a yearning to help people. Growing up in Northeast Austin, Patrice attended Blanton Elementary School, Pearce Middle school and was an early graduate of LBJ High School completing her high school requirements in less than three years. She attended Austin Community College majoring in Business and Fashion Merchandising. Through out grade school, Patrice was pegged as a leader by not only her peers but teachers and administrators as well. She was often called upon to start and lead several organizations and mentoring programs where she was able to motivate other young girls to reach for the stars.
Through her hard work and determination Patrice currently runs three businesses; All Occasion Creations Event and Wedding Design Firm, 7Seven7 Event Group and the Miss Black Central Texas Organization which is a non profit who’s mission is to cultivate young black women into proud leaders who strive for a better future for both themselves and their community. Patrice founded Miss Black Central Texas to curb her appetite for service and leadership. The organization provides scholarships for young girls to attend college and develops and facilitates enrichment programs that teach them to dream big, work hard and give back. You may also here her every Wednesday afternoon on KAZI 88.7’s The Forum, a radio talk show in which she co hosts that addresses the issues relevent to young adults.
